Laura Smith / 24 January 2024

ME050 is a reflective breather membrane which is A2-s1, d0 under EN 13501-1 and water resistant to Class W1 under EN 13859-2. Designed for use within the application of facades for new build and refurbishment projects across the UK and Ireland, this A2-s1, d0, breather membrane is suitable for application within high-rise buildings, open claddings, timber frame construction, and offsite construction.

Features and Benefits of ME050 FR Breather Membrane:

  • Reaction to fire classification A2-s1, d0 to EN 13501-1
  • Permanently UV-resistant behind partially open facades or exposed for up to 9 months before cladding
  • Wind and driving rain resistance
  • Highly breathable with a Sd value of 0.08 m
  • Highly airtight – suitable for Passiv Haus projects.

FR Breather Membrane (ALU) is supplied with integrated adhesive strips at the top and bottom of the roll, allowing the sealing of horizontal overlap joints without the requirement for additional sealing tape. Meeting the requirements for membranes installed on “relevant or higher risk” building types as defined in Approved Document B of the Building Regulations for England and Wales – this new technology now available from Illbruck is one which projects across the UK will benefit from.
