illbruck, a brand of Tremco CPG UK, is ramping up its supply chain activities within the UK. The recent investment and launch of our distribution centre in the heart of Leicester gives customers confidence in continuous supply of construction products from leading construction brands across the UK.
Our facility, which has a pallet capacity of 16,000 and can dispatch up to 450 pallets a day for delivery within the UK & Ireland, was introduced to drive forward greater service levels and to improve customer experience.
As well as future-proofing its facilities, illbruck has also invested in its FORS Silver Accredited fleet, and technology, in a project led by Transport Manager Adrian Furminger, from its Crayford logistics site.
Using its own vehicles has led to illbruck improving the routing of orders, enabling it to expand the delivery area to cover outside the M25. As a result, now 99 per cent of illbruck orders to London and the surrounding area are delivered the next day.
A software package that allows deliveries to be made using handsets with on screen signature capture is also driving forward improvements.
Next steps include the roll-out of tracking services to email or text customers with an ETA of their delivery and the extension of illbruck’s in-house delivery programme to other parts of the country.
More recently, illbruck have introduced a “click and collect” service from the distribution centre in Leicester, which allows customers to visit Tremco CPG UK logistic sites across the UK and collect their goods ordered the previous day.
