An amazing quantity of more than seven million meters of illbruck illmod trio⁺, the first ever multi-functional tape, has already been used in high-quality window construction since its introduction in 2007. As a further development, its manufacturer, Tremco illbruck (Cologne, Germany), is now introducing illbruck illmod trio⁺ . This tape scores points with the material used, thereby meeting the specific requirements of four different applications: Due to the multi-functional properties and the different dimensions of the tape, it can be used in a variety of building projects, including passive houses, new construction, and refurbishing projects. Besides this, it offers measurable thermal and sound insulation with certified values.  

illbruck illmod trio⁺ is an impregnated, pre-compressed sealing tape which has been spec ially developed to meet the increased demands of passive houses, new construction and refurbishing projects. In accordance with RAL, it seals window joints airtight, provides thermal and sound insulation, is vapour-permeable and is resistant to driving rai n, thereby replacing three products with one. illbruck illmod trio⁺ features patented side impregnation and an inner step band. This means that the "interior less vapour-permeable than exterior” design called for in the RAL installation guidelines is a lways met. Here Tremco illbruck is marketing the optimum product for modern moisture management for drying out joints.  

Unprecedented : Four applications with one tape
illbruck illmod trio⁺ is available in all conventional frame depths. It covers the entire window frame depth, completely filling the joint and ensuring optimal thermal insulation. Thanks to the 50% increase in sizes that the tape can be used for (up to 42 mm), there is no other t ape on the market with as many possible applications. That means the uses range from passive houses and new construction all the way to refurbishing projects. illbruck illmod trio⁺ is suitable for passive houses due to its excellent contribution to ene rgy conservation with its U-value of less than 0.8 W/m²K and the required high level of air-tightness. In new construction, illbruck illmod trio⁺ can now be used for state-of-the-art sealing of different joint widths with only a single tape. It meets t he requirements of EnEV 2009 for thermal insulation, air tightness and resistance to driving rain. For refurbishing projects, illbruck illmod trio⁺ is ideally suited because, among other things, it also fills large ruptures and seals uneven joints. For the first time, the installer can use a single product to securely seal the wide joint widths which can occur in older buildings. If an alternative to PU foam is required, illbruck illmod trio⁺ is the better solution with its emission test and high th ermal insulation. Joints of up to 66 mm can be insulated with this. In addition, illbruck illmod trio⁺ provides a high level of sound insulation, depending on the width of use. The installation can be done in any weather.

Since illbruck illmod trio⁺ combines the functions of three sealing products in one tape, the time needed to apply it is also shorter than ever before: Instead of four minutes as is the case with conventional sealing with three products, the installer only needs one minute to seal one metre of window joint. illbruck illmod trio⁺ is also certified VOC-free and can therefore be used in interior spaces without limitations. Furthermore, it has a general building inspection t est certificate, ift component and sound insulation inspections, MPA tests for thermal insulation, vapour diffusion gradient, resistance to driving rain and air tightness.
